Gradings

CD's
GRADE A - Disc near new, obviously played but very well cared for.
GRADE B - The odd light scratch or scuff but generally well cared for.
GRADE C - Average, moderate scratches and scuffs but nothing that should affect the data layer.

Postcard
Mint (M) As new, unposted, in a pristine state. Not normally applicable to vintage cards unless found in original packets.
Excellent ( Ex.) No obvious flaws. Sharp corners, clean and if postally used, writing does not detract from appearance.
Very Good ( VG ) Minor defects such as album marks, signs of age and handling, acceptable and do not detract from a visually pleasing card.
Good (G) Noticeable defects, handling and wear apparent. Slight creasing and minor postal damage not detrimental to image acceptable in this category.
Fair (F) Obvious creasing, staining, small tears or damp damage evident. Significant edge or corner damage. Just about in a collectable state.
Poor (P) Incomplete, image seriously affected. A gap filler only!

Comic & Magazines
Mint (M) Fresh off the press standard, rare to find in a used comic.
Fine (F) Perfect collectors copy, only very slight handling visible, no creasing or tears to cover or pages, no staple rusting, lays perfectly flat, cover bright and uncreased. Minor tanning acceptable on vintage issues, staples not rusted, a very well stored and cared for comic.
Very Good ( VG ) Obviously read with light signs of handling, no heavy creasing, slight spine wear may be present, no loose or delicate pages, no pulling on cover around staples, cover may have light wear or minor creasing, staples may be rusting, surname wrote on cover by supplying newsagent, page tanning, slight curling or corner knocks may be visible.
Good (G) As VG plus : Average for year, moderate creasing or folding, considerable curling and handling, staples may be very rusty, centre-page may be delicate, cover may have splits, tears, marks and pulling at staples, odd page tear or chip, presentable, generally solid and readable.
Poor (P) As G plus: cover or centre pages may be detached or chipped, staples rusted away, soiling, still complete and readable.
